- Postdoctoral Research Position in Spatial Multi-omics and Neurodegenerative Disease
- We are seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our research group at Pusan National University. The successful candidate will contribute to two exciting projects:
- Development of Novel Spatial Multi-omics Methods (50%): In collaboration with the Jung Lab at Korea University (http://ku-model.com/), we are creating a novel wet-lab platform to capture high-resolution spatial multi-omics data. This project aims to develop and implement advanced computational methods to analyze these datasets.
- Single-cell and Spatial Transcriptomics Analysis in Alzheimer's Disease (50%): Apply state-of-the-art single-cell and spatial transcriptomics approaches to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying AD. This project will involve analyzing patient-derived data to uncover new insights into disease progression and potential therapeutic targets.
- Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Mathematics, or any related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience with machine learning and statistical analysis.
- Background in genomics, transcriptomics, or spatial omics data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Korean proficiency is a plus).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with spatial transcriptomics data analysis.
- Familiarity with neurodegenerative disease research.
- Publication records in relevant fields.
- Details
- Salary range: 50,000,000 - 70,000,000 KRW gross salary per year (including 4 major insurances, meal allowance, and severance pay), commensurate with experience.
- This corresponds to approx. 3,600,000 - 4,800,000 KRW of net income per month.
- Please note that the cost of living (including rent) in Busan is 23.4% lower than in Berlin, 48.8% lower than in London, 51.2% lower than in Boston, and 54.6% lower than in San Francisco.
- 5-day work week, with remote work options available when necessary.
